Michael Vick Signs $100 Million Deal With The Eagles!

Michael Vick's comeback is just about complete. The Philadelphia Eagles Monday announced that they have agreed to terms on a new six-year deal with their franchise quarterback. The team said there will be a press conference Tuesday afternoon to officially announce the deal. A four-time Pro Bowl quarterback, Vick has made it back to the top after having his career bottom out. He spent 18 months in federal prison on dogfighting charges and came back to the league as a third stringer with the Eagles in 2009. Now he is one of the highest paid players in the league with the deal reportedly worth $100 million with $40 million guaranteed."I'm very happy we were able to reach an agreement with Michael on this long-term contract," said head coach Andy Reid. "It's a product of all the hard work Michael has done to better himself over the last couple of years, both on and off the field." Vick led the Eagles to the NFC East title last season but they lost a home playoff game to the eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers. Philadelphia is a favorite to win the Super Bowl this season and appears to be primed for a run over the next few years and now those hopes are tied to Vick. "I'm very proud that he has been able to achieve success again in this league, but he'll be the first one to tell you that there is a lot of work yet to be done by him and this team as a whole," Reid said. "And there's no doubt in my mind that he will continue on that path. I give a lot of credit to Joe Banner and Joel Segal for getting this deal done." With this new deal, Vick will be under contract with the Eagles through the 2016 season. He was previously playing under the one-year franchise tender. "I think he's become the ultimate leader of this team," tight end Brent Celek said. "He is our leader. He has taken control of the offense. The things that he can do athletically I think you guys already know that but the off-the-field stuff and the leadership that he has on the field he's really taken over." Vick led the Eagles to the NFC East title last season in his ninth NFL campaign.

Derek Jeter And Minka Kelly Are Off!

One of the public's most recognizable (and most attractive) couples, Yankees star Derek Jeter (37) and his lover, actress Minka Kelly (31) are no longer.

The couple, who have been together for 3 years (I thought they were next up to bat for marriage), said that the split was amicable (text book answer).

“The split was amicable," says a source. "But they remain friends. They still really care for each other.”

The private duo were rumored to be engaged at one point and NEVER spoke about their relationship publicly.

A California federal judge has rejected NBA superstar Gilbert Arenas’ attempts to block VH1’s Basketball Wives and turned down a request to stop former fiancé Laura Govan from appearing on the show and mentioning his name. Further, Shed Media, the producers of the show, have successfully got the judge to grant an anti-SLAPP motion that strikes all of Arenas’ claims as an impingement of free speech except for allegations of a publicity rights infringement. There, the judge dismisses the claim, but is allowing Arenas to file an amended complaint. The just-released decision comes as a huge relief for VH1, which plans to debut the latest LA-based season of Basketball Wives on Monday. In recent months, the show has been hit with a number of lawsuits and legal warnings from various NBA players including Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard.

Arenas’ lawsuit got the furthest, requiring Judge Dolly Gee to examine whether Govan’s association with a show titled “Basketball Wives” could establish a connection to Arenas’ likeness and trademark.
The judge says yes --  that it will be likely that Govan will discuss Arenas on the show and that the show’s raison d’etre is to spotlight female relationships with professional basketball players like Arenas. Even if the show is careful about overtly touting such a connection between Govan and Arenas, media outlets will spot it. According to the decision:

“In an age of tabloid journalism and celebrity obsession, news outlets frequently uncover and publicize connections between celebrities.  For example, in the run-up to the 2008 election, it was widely reported that then-Senator Obama was  a distant relative of then-Vice President Cheney, though presumably neither individual sought to be associated with the other.”

In sum, there’s no escaping the fact that Arenas becomes part of this show in some form.
However, mere appropriation of Arenas’ name and likeness doesn’t necessarily equate to misappropriation, writes the judge...

“On the record currently before the Court, it appears that any references in BWLA to Arenas will be incidental to the show’s plot as a whole.  At its core, the show is about the women who have or have had relationships with basketball players rather than the players themselves.  Thus, the show appears to be transformative.”

Further, the judge finds there’s also fair use to Arenas’ name because there’s a matter of public interest involved. Observers might find it odd that a silly VH1 reality TV show could qualify as such importance under the First Amendment, but Judge Gee clarifies:

“Arenas suggests that any discussion of his family life is not sufficiently related to his celebrity to render BWLA’s use of his identity a matter of public concern.  This contention is belied by the tens of thousands of Twitter users who follow Arenas as he tweets about a variety of mundane occurrences. “

Judge Gee then goes on to note there’s little evidence of “actual malice,” thus ridding of the defamation claim, and that the show’s advertising doesn’t imply any endorsement on Arenas’ part, thus nixing the commercial misappropriation claim. As for Arenas’ trademark allegations, the judge finds there isn’t any likelihood that viewers will be confused. “Although Arenas’ marks are strong,” writes Judge Gee, “they are completely dissimilar to Shed Media’s title.  No one would confuse Arenas with a basketball wife."

Arenas will be resigned to watching the show, and if he spots any gruesome misappropriation of his likeness, can refile an amended complaint in the next couple of weeks. But given the show will have come out and the judge's stated conclusion he’s unlikely to prevail, we can say that Arenas has been soundly trounced on in court by the mother of his four children.

E! reality TV star Kim Kardashian and new husband Kris Humphries have signed a pre-nuptual agreement. A knowledgeable source tells THR that the negotiations, which had been widely reported, are now done.

But what does that mean? Most people probably assume it means that Kardashian's estimated $35 million net worth will now be protected against the double dribbling of an NBA player who is only worth somewhere between $8-16 million. Perhaps, but as we learned from Laura Zwicker, a family wealth planner at LA's Greenberg Glusker law firm, drawing up a pre-nup in a post-reality TV universe is a tad more complicated than just that.

For starters, Zwicker tells us not to assume that Humphries, an NBA free agent, is necessarily the loser here. The attorney points out that Kardashian has a knack for getting into all sorts of legal trouble from her business ventures, which means she could be one adverse judgment away from seeing her fortune seriously diminished. "He could actually benefit if it clearly delineated that debts and liabilities are actually hers," says Zwicker.

On the other hand, perhaps it's not Kim who needs the protection, but other family members who are entangled in business ventures with the 30-year-old personality. Under California law, increases in value of a joint venture during a marriage are considered a couple's community property, unless otherwise waived in the pre-nup. In other words, the deal may go well beyond protecting the $35 million or so in assets, it might reach further to safeguard the entire Kardashian fortune.

Lisa Wu Hartwell, former Real Housewives of Atlanta castmember and ex-wife to singer Keith Sweat, has announced that her and her former NFL hubby Ed Hartwell are heading to divorce court.

The couple, who became engaged in May after dating for six months, wed at a private estate in Montecito, Calif., in front of 440 guests. Among them: Demi Lovato, Babyface, Vera Wang, Mario Lopez,Mark Ballas, Ciara, Carmelo Anthony, Eva Longoria and Eduardo Cruz, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough, Alan Thicke, Cheryl Burke, Melanie Brown, Maria Menounos, Sugar Ray Leonard, Serena Williams, Kathie Lee Gifford, Brittny Gastineau, Greta Van Susteren, Jillian Barberie, Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne, Scottie and Larsa Pippen, and Dina, Ali and Lindsay Lohan. As stepfather Bruce Jenner walked her down the aisle, Kardashian, 30, donned an ivory custom-designed Vera Wang gown with full tulle skirt, basque waist and hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué on the bodice and train. Evelyn Talks About Her "Love" Ochocinco And Their Move To Boston

Reality star/business woman Evelyn Lozada sat down with the Boston Herald magazine where she spoke about her new life with New England Patriots star Chad Ochocinco. The two have moved to Foxboro, MA in a two-bed, two-bath love nest just minutes from the stadium.

But for those who haven't heard, Ocho plans to live with a fan for a little while to get more acquainted with the city. Anything for some press, I tell ya! But will Evelyn be moving in with the fan also?

“He wants to do it, so he will. But that fan better be married with kids. And it won’t be a female fan. It’s a little strange staying at someone’s house who you don’t know. But that’s Chad,” she said. “But me, I won’t be going.”

And why is he doing this again? Oh, because he wasn't loved as a child and needs LOTS of attention. I get it.

On having twins with Ochocinco: Lozada, who has an 18-year-old daughter, and Ocho, who has four kids, are planning on expanding their family with twin boys, already named Pepe and Esteban, through IVF. They’ve made the deposit — monetary and genetic — and are just waiting to make their liaison legal. “The twins are waiting for me,” she said. “That’s the great thing about in vitro. You can plan rather than having an oopsie.”

I just can NOT with these two. So contrived. But hey, if they can make it work, more power to them! We'll see if it lasts....

Jamie: What about his parents? Tell me about them and his family. Have they helped out any?
Jennifer: No, his family did not like me from jump.
Jamie: Oh, they didn’t? (laugh)
Jennifer: I didn’t have problems with his mother up until the point where she knew we were really getting married. Like six weeks before the wedding she just caused so much drama. She invited me out to lunch and I’m thinking, “Okay, this is gonna be good.” She sat in my car and went off on me. She had shades on and she was like—I’ll never forget—she put the shades on the tip of her nose and she was like, “Lemme take these down so you can see my eyes.” (laughter) And she was like, “You do not have my blessing. I don’t think you’re ready to be a—“ like, she was going off. I’m just like, “We’re getting married in six weeks. Are you serious?!” And it was very hurtful. Like, why is she doing this now? And then she’s calling our wedding planner, causing all kinds of drama. It was ridiculous.
Jamie: That thing about his mother took me aback!
Jennifer: “Monster-in-law” is what I liked to call her.

*sigh* You know the sad and unfortunate part about this whole ORDEAL is that their is a soon to be groom that has completely been overshadowed in this wedding process. You never hear anyone say "Kris' wedding", do ya? It is ALLLLLLLLLLLL about Kim.

E! has set the dates for the behind-the-scenes look at the preparation for Kim Kardashian's wedding. Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event  will air in two parts on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. The special will go inside Kardashian and fiance Kris Humphries' wedding, from the wedding planning to the parties to the couple's actual wedding day, which will take place Aug. 20 in Montecito, Calif. Kardashian, who stars on E!'s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, got engaged to the NBA player earlier this year after six months of dating. Vera Wang will design Kardashian's wedding gown; the family friend also designed the dress for sister Khloe when she wed basketball player Lamar Odom in 2009.

Retired NBA Star Jalen Rose Sentened To Jail

Former NBA star Jalen Rose was just sentenced to serve 20 days in jail -- four months after he crashed his car into a ditch during an alleged drunk driving incident in Michigan back in March. TMZ broke the story ... the 38-year-old ex-Fab Fiver was driving along an icy roadway with a female passenger on March 11 when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed, flipping the car. When cops arrived, Rose agreed to undergo several roadside sobriety tests -- and was eventually arrested for DUI. Along with the jail time, Rose was also sentenced to 1 year of probation. 

20 days in jail? This will damn sure make people think twice about drinking and driving (or will it?!?!). 

Kristin Cavallari And Jay Cutler: The Engagement Is OFF!!!

Ummmmmmm. Raise your hand if you're surprised?

Is Kristin Cavallari back on the market just two months after announcing her engagement? While it's not yet clear if the former Hills star and her baller beau Jay Cutler have ended their relationship altogether, E! News has confirmed that the duo has called it quits on their upcoming nuptials. So what went down? A source close to the couple told E! News that while Cavallari's excitement about their big day led her to buy a Monique Lhuillier wedding gown just two weeks ago, the Chicago Bears quarterback was no longer on the same page—and he pulled the plug on the affair yesterday.  "Jay got cold feet," a source close to the couple told E! News. "Kristin is stunned." The source said the couple had been disagreeing over some issues recently, particularly how Cavallari would balance her career while living in Chicago with Cutler during the football season. Meanwhile Cutler and Cavallari, who had been together for 10 months, were planning a spring wedding and had just posted their wedding registry last week.

While Kristin hasn't given any details about the impending split, she did take to her Twitter account with the following tweet:

In one of the most funniest blogs I've read as of late, "Basketball Wives" star Royce Reed (Dwight Howard's babymomma) shared her thoughts and opinions on the big showdown between her arch nemesis Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada on their popular reality show.

Guide 1: How To Start a Loving and Respectful Relationship

As we have heard from Jennifer, you must consider EVERY man you go on a date with a boyfriend. Yes, EVERY. You must put yourself on stalker status and claim them as “Your Boo”. You also MUST sleep with them to keep them….hence her going through a divorce. Despite the fact, I’ve ONLY had 2 boyfriends not 3 in the past 3 not 1 years, I guess I’m doing something wrong by living up to my morals. BUT, since it comes from the mouth of Jen-God it must be true. I find it funny though that I seem to come up in conversation pertaining to my sex life when I’m such a Non-Muthaf***n Factor. Dammit! Contrary to popular belief it is assured that since Jennifer went on that blind date, he is now her boyfriend and I’m guessing she slept with him so that’s boyfriend #2, and I believe we see #3 somewhere down the line also…

What have we learned here? Not A Got Damn Thing! Which basically means you’re good! Screw your morals and upbringing, those beliefs went out in 1999. A man/woman will only respect your mind if you make the relationship physical right off and you claim then from date 1!

Guide 2: How to Make the Most of Your Overseas Trip
Shade Factor: 8
As I stated in the confessional, I saw this trip being full of drama. My trip to Rome consisted of Site Seeing, photo ops, a little souvenir shopping, and great dining. Basically I did it ALL wrong. When you go on an overseas trip you must take ALL your drama and issues with each other to that country and squash it there. Yes, like a Drama Retreat. You must confront your best friend, worst enemy, and call out those who cant hold water. Every time you sit down to eat, be angry. Every time you walk with someone, bring up the issues with someone else, ESPECIALLY if it pertains to your best friend. Lastly, when you are in your downtime you must PLOT on how you want to handle any and all ambushes you plan to have while Shaunie plays peace maker….yeah…This way, you will leave that country not remembering the culture but remembering your issues. AWESOME! Cant wait to go back. Shaunie, how bout next time you invite Gloria and Laura! I foresee Fun Times!!! To Tami, just as you thought I was an idiot for trying to build something with Meeka, I think you’re crazy for believing these chicks may have any sense of loyalty to you. If any, its because they are afraid to get on your bad side. We can argue it up and down face to face then go have drinks after-wards BUT it wont be in Rome.

What have we learned here? Overseas means throwing someone Overboard, Under the Bus, and Out in Traffic. Which basically means, no souvenirs…unless it’s Holy Water.

Guide 3: How To Build a Great and Longlasting Friendship
Shade Factor: 9
Under NO circumstances are you to EVER have a mind of your own. You must pick one person to be the Alpha female or male and everyone else has to play the “Yes Man”. You are never, I mean NEVER, under any circumstance allowed to go against the grain or the opinion of the Alpha even if its the truth. Also, you must talk about the issues you have with your friend/s with others before confronting them. Yes, you need backup. You must answer any and all questions dishonestly the way the Alpha THINKS you should answer it, and the way she/he saw you answering it in their head. Evelyn, I’m confused as to why you were crying. Now your friendship wont be the same? Because your friend, your BFF, finally spoke her mind? I believe she said everything she stated in that interview to your face. I smell SH!T and its coming from your way. You did say you could give a performance so here’s your award for the best Sh!tshow! I must say, as much as Jennifer and I aren’t friends, I’m extremely proud of her for not backing down from her opinion. I honestly jumped up and down and started swinging my arms like she just dunked on Kobe’ but I digressed when I saw the tears. I felt better when she had that “whatever, she’ll get over it” attitude. Listen, my friends and I can argue and debate any and all issues all day then have dinner at night and hug it out. I’m hoping these 2 can hug it out while still standing their ground on their opinions Then and only then will I say this friendship has stood ONE of the tests of time. Let’s see how this ends, I give it a few weeks as opposed to a few months, I mean this time you didn’t swear on your daughters life you would never be friends as you did with Suzie, so I’m sure it wont last as long. Suzie, you look scared to speak. I’m not mad you read my text message but now you see what happened to me. You kinda felt like you had to PROVE your innocence. I get it, now you see how I felt in Spain. Difference is now, I no longer give a sh!t. Hence the reason why I haven’t built that great and longlasting friendship with these chicks. Tami, run! Suzie, run, Meeka, sprint.

What have we learned here? Blood is thicker than water and none of us are related. Therefore, only Yes men are allowed in fake, err I mean Real Friendships!

All and all, even though I wasnt seen in this episode I was definitely in more scenes than I thought! Till next week, notice the sarcasm, & shade… I’m outtie!!!

The 2011 ESPY Awards drew the biggest names in sports and in Hollywood to celebrate their year of groundbreaking accomplishments on and off their respective field. 

Hosted by SNL comedian/actor Seth Meyers (he was funny!), the award show took place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday night.
