Former Giants receiver plaxico Burress strolled out of jail Monday wearing a Philadelphia Phillies cap on his head and a big smile on his face after 20 months behind bars. "It's a beautiful day," Burress said as he left the medium-security Oneida Correctiona Facility in Rome, NY. "It's a beautiful day to be reunited with my family. I want to go home and spend some quality time with them." Wearing shades, Burress thanked God and "all my fans all around the world for the thousands of letters, for their unwavering support." Asked about a possible return to pro football, Burress answered, "If and when everything gets settled, when they get back on the field, I'll be ready." Then Burress climbed into a black Range Rover and headed for the Turning Stone Casino and Result to meet his wife, Tiffany, his son, Elijah, and a daughter, Giovanna, who was born while he was behind bars. He was expected to board a flight to his home outside Ft. Lauderdale, FL by 11 a.m. Burress, 33, spent a lot of time running and doing strength exercise with an eye to returning to the NFL while doing time for a gun charge, his agent,Drew Rosenhaus, said.

Hmmmmm. Wonder what team he is going to next? I'm quite certain that he will never return to the Giants after they released him.

Niecy Nash Weds Jay Tucker + Tony Romo Weds Candice Crawford

Actress/Comedian Niecy Nash, aka the lady with the flower in her hair and full lips, wed fiance Jay Tucker yesterday in an outdoor afternoon ceremony at the Church Estate Vineyard in Malibu, CA. 

Niecy says, "I have to say, this second time around, it feels custom. Even after I got my divorce, the ink wasn't even dry on the paper, and I said, 'Ooh, the next time I become a wife, I got this thing down pat!' I always believed that there was someone built for me." 

Niecy had a star studded wedding and wedding party that was comprised of (in part) The View's Sherri Shepherd, The Game actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, Holly Robinson-Peete, and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who served as the matron of honor.

Dallas Cowboys' QB Tony Romo (and ex to Jessica Simpson) decided he wanted to make his relationship official with Candice Crawford (24 - sister to Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford) as the couple tied the knot at the Arlington Hall in Dallas, TX yesterday.

"It was perfect! From the ceremony in beautiful white, to a vibrant after-party and great music selected by Tony himself," says the source, noting the packed dance floor.

Cowboy players past and present, such as Troy Aikman, Roger Staubach, Dez Bryant and Miles Austin, as well as team owner Jerry Jones, were seen helping the couple celebrate their nuptials in the historic building tucked in the city's Oak Lawn neighborhood.

Report: Lakers To Hire Mike Brown As Head Coach

I have to admit, I NEVER thought Phil Jackson would ACTUALLY leave. Hmph! And then to be replaced by the Cleveland Cavalier's former coach? Oh this is gonna be interesting.

Mike Brown will not be the next head coach of the Golden State Warriors. Instead, Brown, the former coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, will be named the new coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, according to two league sources. Brown was considered a frontrunner for the Warriors’ job, but is expected to sign a four-year, $18 million contract with L.A. — succeeding Phil Jackson as coach. Los Angeles had considered longtime assistant Brian Shaw, but the focus is now on Brown, who is currently an NBA analyst for ESPN. There could be an agreement in place within the next 24-48 hours, sources say, but nothing has been finalized. Brown expects to reach a resolution one way or another with Los Angeles on Wednesday. The two sides are working out issues that could be dealbreakers and cause the Lakers to go to another candidate, sources said, but there’s clearly momentum toward Brown becoming the next head coach.

NBA Star Grant Hill Offers Anti-Gay PSA + Ignorant Twitter Followers React!

Yesterday on Twitter, many Grant Hill followers reacted quite negatively when a 30-second public service announcement featuring the NBA star encouraging young people to stop using the word "gay" to mean "dumb or stupid" surfaced online.

These ignorant, hateful, vile comments honestly make my stomach turn! I hear them constantly, and when a person uses the terms, I have to remind myself that ignorance is a "learned behavior". Parents/Future parents, you can stop the cycle. We have such a LOOONG way to go.

In related news, Phoenix Suns president and chief executive officer Rick Welts just announced that he was gay in an interview with The New York Times. Welts said he chose such a public forum to announce his sexual orientation to "engender conversation" on a topic not often discussed in professional sports. He also wanted to show young people "who are struggling with their own issues" that they can have a successful career, whether it be in team sports or something else.
